PhD students and postdocs rarely have the occasion to present and discuss their data in an independent forum at international meetings. At the School, young investigators from several DC-THERA partner labs were encouraged to help organizing formal morning sessions, deliver a state of the art lecture, act as chair persons and provide a forum for informal exchange of information in evening round table discussions. The aim is to meet the demands of the young investigator for presenting and discussing data, preparing them for the task of writing grants but equally important to help them form their own network within the European  DC community.

The assigned groups got to know each other better, with discussions developing more and more lively with every evening. This year we introduced a set of preparatory readings to build fundamental knowledge and enable discussions as participants come from diverse research areas and experiences. A kind sponsor offered some beer to help things get going in the evening round table sessions.  Sports sessions in between helped to create a great environment for trust and learning.
